Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of PikaLex (“PikaLex”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), provided by Serhii Taikalo. Provider and contact details are available in our Legal Notice.

PikaLex is intended for children and families. A parent or legal guardian should review these Terms and supervise the child’s use. These Terms apply to use of the app to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. About PikaLex

PikaLex is an educational word-learning app for children. It includes vocabulary cards, audio pronunciation, five learning exercises, local progress, and rewards.

PikaLex is designed to support learning, but we do not guarantee a specific educational result, language level, or learning outcome.

2. Current free access

PikaLex version 1.0.67 and later provide all five learning modes and app features without subscriptions, in-app purchases, or daily usage limits. PikaLex does not show third-party advertising.

Using version 1.0.67 or later cannot create a new PikaLex charge. If a future version introduces a paid feature, its price and applicable terms will be shown before purchase, and these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated where required.

3. Historical purchases

Version 1.0.66 and some earlier store releases offered optional Premium subscriptions or a lifetime purchase. Those versions may remain available on a device or in a store while version 1.0.67 is being released. Any price, renewal period, trial, and purchase terms shown by Apple App Store or Google Play before confirmation apply to that transaction. No purchase is completed without the store’s confirmation flow.

Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled through the store account used to purchase them. Updating to version 1.0.67 removes PikaLex daily limits and makes a prior Premium entitlement unnecessary, but it does not itself cancel an existing store subscription. Apple App Store or Google Play remains responsible for billing, cancellation, and refund decisions under store rules and applicable law.

If you have a question about an earlier purchase, contact the applicable store or pikalex.app@gmail.com. Do not send payment card details or a child’s personal information.

4. Privacy

Use of PikaLex is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how the app, website, and support contact handle information.

5. License to use the app

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PikaLex for personal, family, and educational purposes, subject to these Terms and the rules of the store from which you obtained the app.

You may not:

• copy, modify, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute the app except where applicable law permits;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly allows it;
• use the app for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
• interfere with the app’s operation, security, parental gates, or content-delivery mechanisms.

6. Children and parental supervision

Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether PikaLex is appropriate for their child and for supervising its use.

Settings, support contact, and external links may be protected by a parental gate and are intended for a parent or guardian.

7. Optional content downloads

Some language audio and illustrated image packs are downloaded after a parent or guardian confirms the download. Availability may depend on internet access, storage space, device support, and Apple or Google distribution services. After required packs are downloaded, supported learning activities can be used offline.

8. App content and intellectual property

PikaLex, including its design, artwork, text, vocabulary content, sounds, software, logos, and other materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

PikaLex does not operate an AI service inside the app or send user information to AI providers. All images, voices, and reward music were created or edited with the help of AI tools and manually reviewed before being included in PikaLex.

9. Third-party services and store terms

PikaLex relies on Apple App Store or Google Play for distribution and optional content delivery. Those services are governed by their own terms, policies, and account rules. Transactions in version 1.0.66 and earlier releases remain subject to the relevant store’s terms.

For iOS users, these Terms supplement Apple’s applicable App Store terms and Standard End User License Agreement, unless Apple requires otherwise.

10. Updates and availability

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of PikaLex, including features, content, languages, and device support. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available on every device, platform, store, country, or operating-system version.

Updates may be required to keep the app working with store services, operating systems, security requirements, or downloaded content.

11. Service availability

We take reasonable care in providing PikaLex, but digital services may contain errors or be temporarily unavailable. We do not promise a particular educational result or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or remedy that applicable consumer law requires.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Subject to those rights, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable from use of PikaLex or for business losses arising from personal, family, or educational use of the app.

13. Ending use

You may stop using PikaLex at any time and remove local app data by deleting the app or clearing its data in device settings.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when PikaLex, store requirements, or applicable law changes. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version.

15. Applicable consumer rights

These Terms do not limit mandatory consumer rights. The law applicable to your use of PikaLex is determined by the rules that apply in your country or region.
